A Part of Boxing History

On May 2, 2015 in Las Vegas, NV five-division world champ Floyd “Money” Mayweather Jr. will face-off against eight-division world champ Manny Pacquiao in what will be one of the biggest fights in the history of boxing.

Disagreements between the two fighters have stalled this fight for over five years, but finally, in just a few weeks, what’s already being called the “Fight of the Century”, will go down at the MGM Grand.

I have had the pleasure of meeting Freddie Roach, world-famous boxing trainer and trainer to Manny Pacquiao, several times due to his involvement with one of our client’s First Rate Boxing. Last week I got to sit down with Freddie at his gym, Wild Card Boxing Club in LA, and ask him about how camp has been going with Manny and what it’s like to be involved in such a historic fight; or should I say event, this fight reaches well beyond just the boxing community.

After spending the morning at Wild Card I attended the official press conference for the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. It was a true red carpet event with media, paparazzi, and celebrities. (Yes, that’s Justin Bieber standing next to Mayweather.)

It’s been amazing to get to experience a part of boxing history. I can’t wait till May 2 to see who will be crowned the champion and take home the ultimate bragging rights!
